Apple Oatmeal

Ingredients 

1 cup rolled oats (you can use gluten free as well)
2 cups liquid (water or non dairy milk)
1 red apple, diced
teaspoon of cinnamon

​Method

If you like your oatmeal creamy, just mix the oats with water (or other liquid), then bring to a boil and simmer for a few minutes. If you like it crunchier and less creamy, bring the liquid to a simmer first, over slightly less than medium heat. Then add the oats and stir. You can add the apple while the oatmeal is cooking or add it completely fresh. Keep the oats at a very low simmer, cooking them for about 15 minutes. Be sure to stir the oats occasionally, especially toward the end of the cooking process, so that they do not burn on the bottom of the pan. If you are going to add a flavouring, add it about 5 minutes before you are done cooking the oats.
