Just as I sat down at my desk, the rain started pouring down almost as a reminder to say: “hey, it is time to write about angels”. It is funny how the weather can be so inspiring.
I feel that when it’s grey and rainy outside, I become a lot more creative; maybe because with a few candles and a dim light, I have the perfect ambiance (if you are a Harry Potter fan- like me- you may understand) and this is exactly how creativity came just now!
If you know me already, you know I love angel cards and I do readings as well. Interestingly, although there are a few angel card sets out there, I am always only attracted to Doreen’s; there is something in her words that is comforting and feels more authentic than anyone else I came across. Maybe because I relate to Doreen in a way where she always felt she wasn’t “standard”; she never “fit in” in, and in truth, so do I.
I feel it is always a battle for me to try and fit when in fact I love creating a space that may be seen as “different” to feel comfortable. I feel at home when I can sit, think, meditate and read my cards or write.
I took the last month to get to know the cards, to explore them, to familiarize with the meaning of each and to learn ways to read them in different scenarios. I love all my decks but safe to say, this is my favorite by far, right now.
Angels of Abundance is a set of 44 unique cards and it comes with a booklet to break down the meaning of each card. Each meaning is “flexible” as it connects to the cards we pick before and/or after or also, in true Virtue’s style, perhaps mixing other decks in, to expand the messages. Moreover, the meaning of each card depends on the question asked and that is the intention we set.
Angels of Abundance is also special for one more reason: Doreen wrote it with her son Grant, who is a podcast radio host at Blog Talk Radio as well as being in charge of their online courses at their Angel University . The cards share the inspiration of two creative minds, which I think makes things a lot more powerful.
I love collaborating with like minded people and I think that when one shares in genuine energy, their work is powerful and I feel this deck is that too.
This particular deck is setup to share messages of abundance; letting go of fear or blockages that can keep us in a state of “poverty”. This doesn’t only apply to material wealth, but spiritual. If we are unhappy, never content or grateful for what we have, we will never reach our potential. We have lived in a society that teaches to yearn for materialism but at the same time describe wealth as negative.
A reminder that comes with these cards is that the intention into all we think about or have in our lives (even things we don’t have) is most important.
A few cards stroke a cord with me, as I was reading for myself, to remind me that it is ok and well deserved to create a space where we can welcome some wealth in our lives; but what we do with it counts. The issue nowadays is that we are not sharing into the right things with wealth, we are simply focusing on consumerism dissipating wealth and making us fear it as it doesn’t seem to bring the best side of us out. But it depends on the person. Money is just a “thing”; how we use it is our intention and purpose.
Please note that this lesson was personal to me and may not apply to you, per se, as you read your cards, but I wanted to share to show that the messages in this deck are linked to our inner thoughts and fears and this is the one thing I needed to work on.
This is certainly not the only message I received by the Angels but I truly feel this is the one I had to share here.
Whether you are new to angel cards or not, I suggest buying this deck. If anything you can pick a card each day and see what the message is for you.
