Less than a year later, I find myself “talking to the moon” once again, this time, literally asking for guidance.
Since discovering the beautiful work of Hay House Author, Astrologer and Moon expert, Yasmin Boland, through her book, Moonology , which I also reviewed, I am in awe of the beautiful oracle cards, by the same name, that followed the book!
I truly thought I was going to take a week to review these cards as I was going through them day in and day out, and loving them, but I started using them a lot more throughout the month, and decided that I wanted to actually enjoy the experience before writing about it and them!
Needless to say, that just like the book, the Moonology Oracle Cards, did not disappoint!
I took time to connect to the deck and make it personal, as I do with my angel cards, and then going daily with their guidance.
I have used them in my yoga classes, getting inspiration about the messages of the daily moons, and how I can connect that to the teachings and wisdom in each class!
Just like the author reflects on the moon’s power to share more than what is “obvious”, I use Yoga the same way and this is probably why I have become such a huge fan of Moonology (Book, Cards and Website), because I see the depth that it brings to my classes to a level than is more than a physical practice.
Off the mat, the cards have been the best source of inspiration for me, as well as warnings! The best example of the accuracy of the the cards is from last week’s Full Moon in Capricorn!
Needless to say, that even without knowing the power that particular moon held, I was affected by it since days before it came to full! Lack of sleep, feeling angry and short tempered and wanting to literally yell out of frustration!
Of course, this was heightened by the fact that I am currently project managing building works in Portugal, where I am building my eco-retreat, and if anyone ever dealt with builders, you know the massive pain one goes through! When I looked at the deck and read about the Full Moon in Capricorn, I realised that I had to “calm down”!
Yasmin’s card spoke to me: “Be assertive, but calm as it is a fiery moon” (paraphrasing here of course) – it helped! I really felt like having a tantrum, but i decided to be calm (apparently I was very “cold” and bruised the fragile Latino Ego packaged within my Portuguese Builder’s strong external frame) instead of going crazy (and I will admit, the PMS did not help my struggle to stay calm)
I also read these beautiful cards for my best friend, who is not a hippy like me at all, and the message was loud and clear, in response to his question too!
For those of you who are new to Moonology, I can only say: get yourself the book and the cards and enjoy this transformational journey in this Lunar world!
Yasmin Boland has a gift for sharing Astro-wisdom through the moon and, in her book, she created a beautiful guide to what stages the moon is in, what each stage means and what to do to optimise the way we feel and tune to her everyday. The cards add on to that knowledge offering a daily reminder of our personal journey! You can read the cards randomly or can look for the daily moon’s message and stay attuned to it as needed (as I did last week)
Yasmin Boland has been exploring this connection for years and she has a wealth of knowledge about the moon which, from my experience is quite accurate!
As women, we share a deeper relationship to the moon, so for us this should feel like getting to know ourselves a little better too as the moon harnesses beautifully feminine energy that can be affected by the masculine (e.g. full moon in Capricorn) but that eventually finds grounding in a more Yin status where we are back to being ourselves!
